Hi! I’m Beth.

my pronouns are (they/them)

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MYSELF TO SEE IF I’M A GOOD FIT FOR YOU!

ABOUT MY WORK WITH YOU:

My therapist-purpose is to hold a safer, nonjudgmental space for you as we uncover what helps you feel empowered, who you are in your authentic self, and what feels healing to you. I truly believe you are the authority of your own experiences and I am here as part guide, part sidekick to your story, and part confidant. In our work together, we’ll collaboratively explore how you hold meaning in your life and how your experiences influence the relationships you have with yourself, your partners, your children, your community, and the world.

I work from a trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, intersectional feminist, and relational-cultural mindset. This means we will explore how your mental health is impacted by the society, systems, and cultures that you live in or interact with daily.

ABOUT ME:

I am a Latinx, neurodivergent, queer, kinky, poly, fat, and nonbinary/trans native Austinite. I worked as a journalist for 8 years before I realized a career in counseling and therapy was calling to me in a loud voice. I have my M.A. in Counseling from Texas State University and am continuing to learn through training, professional literature, consultations with other therapists, and podcasts. My peers and supervisors have told me I have a calming demeanor in the counseling room and during a crisis. I have an empathetic nature and am always striving to challenge and unlearn any socialized biases or prejudices. I don’t shy away from humor or cursing in my practice.

I enjoy cooking, playing piano, singing, and writing poetry about the erotic and/or intergenerational trauma. I am passionate about advocating for social justice issues in my community and making deep personal connections with others. One of my favorite things is to curl up on a comfy chair with a good book. I am not the best at understanding board game rules, but I love playing them anyway! Cozy shows and movies are my calm place.
